terrace house

Perched high on a hill, Terrace House captures striking views to the south through a transparent facade and captures sunlight from the north through a series of skylights and clerestory windows. Terrace House is a study of into accommodating a generous family home on a smaller than average block whilst respecting and complementing the character of Brisbane’s inner city suburbs.

From the primary street, the home appears as a modest cottage, however turning the corner and extending down the hillside is a contemporary, terraced form. The material palette is simple, yet striking. Operable screens and louvres on the western facade captures morning views and shields afternoon sun. Internally the palette is rich and evocative, responding to the desire to create a sophisticated retreat within the character fabric.

Terrace House was recipient of the HIA Brisbane Renovation of the Year in 2019.
