Beach House High Res-24.jpg

beach house

Situated minutes from the beach, the house is a retreat away from the hustle of work and the city. With the existing house largely retained, the renovation sought to enhance the opportunities to improve connectivity between the internal living spaces and the outdoor entertaining spaces. Large sliding doors and windows in the kitchen, living, and dining spaces open up to the eastern and north-eastern aspects, inviting natural sunlight and breezes. A large, covered outdoor deck links the existing house to the new extension overlooking the pool and gardens on each side.

Materials employed externally were selected for their durability and complement the vegetated beachside surrounds. Internally, the use of timber adds warmth to the spaces of relaxation and decompression.
